The many rivers and lakes in Nyerere National Park guarantee beautiful safaris on foot, by boat and by jeep. The Udzungwa mountain range has numerous unique plants and scenic villages and is the habitat of a number of rare monkeys, a beautiful walking area.
After the safari you fly to the tropical island Zanzibar for a wonderful relax on the beach, or be active in and on the water.

Travel schedule
Your safari starts with a beautiful car trip from Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park, where the coming days will be filled with safaris by jeep, short walking safaris and a boat safari. It is very special to view the animals on foot and from the water. You will see different parts of this large park.
The green and wooded surroundings of the Udzungwa mountains are ideal for a beautiful hike with beautiful views, a visit to the waterfalls and to explore a valley by bike.
Finally, a beautiful domestic flight takes you to the idyllic island of Zanzibar. You will stay there for four days in a lovely lodge on the white sandy beach, where you can either lie in your hammock for hours listening to the sea or alternate this with sporting and/or cultural activities.
Dar es Salaam
Your trip starts in Dar es Salaam; the economic heart of Tanzania. You’re welcomed at the airport and brought to a comfortable waterfront hotel, just outside the city centre of Dar es Salaam: a nice place for you to enjoy a drink and late night snack to recover from the flight.
Nyerere - east
After a delicious breakfast you will leave for Nyerere National Park. From Dar es Salaam it is about a five-hour drive. On the way to the park you can enjoy changing landscapes with beautiful plains and hills. In the afternoon you immediately take a boat safari until evening falls. You spend the night in the park in a great location.
The next day you will enjoy a full day jeep safari in Nyerere National Park. A great way to experience the beauty of the enormous park and see the many animals that live there. Your guide will tell you a lot about it. Beautiful adventurous and varied days, in the middle of nature.
Nyerere - west
Today a full day boat safari is on the program. You sail deep into the Nyerere National Park and enjoy the rich animal life along the way. It is a unique experience to observe the animals from the water. At the end of your boat safari, the jeep will be ready for you to take you through the park to your next lodge in the western part.
The next morning starts with a walking safari, accompanied by a professional guide. This special adventure is full of beautiful stories about life in nature that will stay with you for a long time.
In the afternoon you will go on a jeep safari through this varied part of the park. After an exciting day, return to your lodge where you can enjoy a refreshing dip and breathtaking sunset views over the mountains.
Udzungwa
After breakfast you leave for the Udzungwa Mountains. You will follow a varied, slightly rugged route, where you will discover the many faces of Tanzania. Once you arrive at your accommodations, it is time for a nice drink and to enjoy the beautiful view of this green place.
The next day you and your guide will take a beautiful mountain hike to the breathtaking Sanje Waterfalls. Along the way you will learn all about the various rare plants, trees, birds and monkeys. Once at the top you can enjoy a great view and take a swim. You will be back at your accommodation for dinner.
The next day you explore the flat valley by bike. This is a beautiful area with many sights that you can combine with other activities such as a village tour, a visit to the rubber plantation and a canoeing adventure.
Zanzibar
After breakfast you will take a domestic flight to Zanzibar. Once you arrive on the tropical island, we will welcome you and drive past plantations and through authentic villages to the east coast of Zanzibar. Here you will find long, white sandy beaches and the crystal clear turquoise water of the Indian Ocean. There are beautiful coral reefs along this coast where you can enjoy great snorkeling or diving.
Sun, sea and beach. Whether you relax in a hammock or do something active, such as swimming, diving, fishing or sailing… you will certainly enjoy yourself!
Departure
In the evening you fly from Zanzibar Island – via Dar es Salaam or Nairobi – back to you home destination, where you arrive the next morning.
