Personal data that Explore Tanzania processes

We process your personal data because you use our services and / or because you provide this data to us yourself. We may process the following personal data, depending on the product or service you purchase:

Request travel advice
When you request travel advice, you share your first name, last name, e-mail address, number of people, age of your children, telephone number, budget, preferred contact date, preferred contact time and explanation of the travel party and the details of the trip with us. Thanks to this data, we can provide travel advice that meets your wishes, and we are then able to contact you about this advice. The travel advice is stored in the Explore Tanzania content management system. The request for travel advice is also registered anonymously in Google Analytics, purely for analysis purposes.

Sign up for our newsletter
When you sign up for our newsletter, your first name, last name, e-mail address, preferred setup and relationship with Explore Tanzania will be saved. This information is processed by Mailchimp, the e-mail marketing software with which we send our newsletter and e-mail communication. The data is used to address you and to send e-mail communication. The registration for the newsletter is also registered anonymously in Google Analytics, purely for analysis purposes.

Request a brochure
When you request the brochure, your first name, last name, e-mail address and address details are stored. This information is processed by Mailchimp, the e-mail marketing software with which we send our e-mail communication. The data is used to communicate with you and to send you the brochure by post. The request for the brochure is also registered anonymously in Google Analytics, purely for analysis purposes.

Book a trip
When you actually book a trip, the travel date, travel sum, number of participants, travel insurance information, cancellation insurance and first name, last name, insert, call sign, date of birth, nationality, street name, house number, zip code, city, country, phone number, mobile telephone number, e-mail address, passport number, expiration date of passport, stay-at-home number and dietary requirements of the main booker and fellow travelers saved. This data is processed by an Explore Tanzania employee. This information is necessary for booking a trip and communicating with the main booker. Booking a trip is also registered anonymously in Google Analytics, purely for analysis purposes.

Special and/or sensitive personal data

Our website and / or service doesn’t intend to collect data about website visitors under the age of 16 unless they have the permission of their parents or guardian. However, we cannot check whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in their children’s online activities in order to prevent data about children being collected without parental consent. Temporary data storage by Explore Tanzania

After you’ve purchased a product or service from Explore Tanzania, you’ll remain in our customer base for a maximum of 3 years so that we can inform you about changes to our products or services. Of course you can unsubscribe here. If you’ve registered for our newsletter, we’ll delete data after it has been inactive for a year. The retention period of data depends on the purpose for which we received or collected the data and on legal obligations to store data. Sharing of personal data with third parties

We share your personal data with business partners and third parties if this is necessary for the execution of the agreement and to comply with any legal obligation. We conclude a processing agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf to guarantee the same level of security and to safeguard the confidentiality of your data. We remain responsible for these processes.

We use the following suppliers who process personal data on our behalf, with whom each processing agreement has been concluded: Site Spirit, Google and Mailchimp.

Google Analytics
We’ve entered into a processor agreement with Google. The data that we collect in Google Analytics is made anonymous and encrypted. The so-called “sharing of data” with Google is off. Finally, we don’t use the Analytics cookies in combination with other Google services.

View, correct or delete data

You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw your consent for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by Explore Tanzania and you have the right to data transferability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data that we hold about you in a computer file to you or another organization mentioned by you.
