Travel schedule
Off the beaten track, you and your group will exclusively experience the beautiful landscapes, fascinating cultures and countless animals in the untouched nature of Northern Tanzania. You will visit the national parks of Tarangire and Lake Manyara, the Hadzabe hunters at Lake Eyasi and the hospitable Maasai at Ngorongoro. In the Serengeti you are part of the great migration to the north of Tanzania.
Arusha
The journey starts in Arusha city, the safari capital of Tanzania.
You will be met by us at the airport and enjoy the first evening in an elegant lodge, surrounded by coffee plantations and great views of Mount Meru. In this stylish place you enjoy a snack and a drink at the sound of crickets and birds in the beautiful tropical garden.
Tarangire
After breakfast you will depart for Tarangire National Park and arrive at an authentic tented camp in the Randilen Game Management Area on the edge of the park, where you will check into your tent suite before lunch.
The afternoon is spent on activities in the area, including a cultural visit to the Maasai and a jeep safari. Before returning to camp for an early dinner, you will enjoy a nice sunset drink. But after dinner you will head out again for a night safari.
The next day is all about safari in the Tarangire National Park. The picnic basket will not be missed on this authentic safari.
Lake Manyara
In the morning you go via the southern route to Lake Manyara National Park. You will not encounter many tourists here either.
You will spend the night in a luxurious and comfortable tented camp on the Endabash riverbed. The camp, in a unique spot in the middle of the bush, offers a non-stop safari experience.
You will spend two nights here, where you can also take a walking or night safari. There is a good chance that animals will pass by while you enjoy a cold drink at the tent.
Lake Eyasi
After breakfast you drive to Lake Eyasi, a soda lake in the middle of volcanic mountains. This is where the original Hadzabe live, an ancient tribe of hunters.
During the day you arrive at a genuine green oasis on the lakeshore, in an otherwise arid area. The luxury tented camp guarantees top service.
You will go out with the Hadzabe these days and learn everything about their culture and way of life. But there is also plenty of time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The view from the rock at sunset is a true magical moment.
Ngorongoro
Today you say goodbye to the Hadzabe and later that day you will be welcomed by the Maasai, a semi-nomadic people of pastoralists.
After the undoubtedly warm welcome with song and dance from these friendly people, you will be treated to a nice drink and cool stories from the enthusiastic Maasai story teller.
The next day the Ngorongoro Crater is on the program, in search of the Big Five. This can be done by jeep through the crater itself or (optional option) a 6-hour walking safari from the camp, through Maasai nature reserve, to the crater rim. From the crater rim you have a spectacular view into the crater itself.
Serengeti - Central
After breakfast you say goodbye to your Maasai hosts to continue your safari.
The road from the Ngorongoro Highlands to the Serengeti is one of the most beautiful routes in Tanzania, where there will be a lot to see. Serengeti literally means ‘endless plains’. You’ve probably never been able to see that far in your life. Lions, cheetahs, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles… you’re going to see it all.
You spend the night in a part of the park where few visitors come. The luxury tented camp is located on a river gorge, where a lot of game can be found all year round.
Serengeti - North
You stay a few more days in the Serengeti, which has so much to offer, and continue your safari north after breakfast. This is also where the millions of ungulates are located around August/September. They are here to cross the Mara River in search of water and fresh grass. A magnificent spectacle that is not without danger for the animals. Predators are lurking everywhere.
Tonight you will sleep in the middle of nature and among the animals. The open and stylish safari tents guarantee the ultimate safari experience. From this magical place you will make jeep safaris and (optional) a walking safari these days.
Back home
In the morning you fly from North Serengeti with a domestic flight to Arusha. With good visibility you can look from a great height over the beautiful and wide landscape and sometimes even see the animals passing by below you.
You will have lunch in the tropical garden of an attractive former colonial farm with a large pond. Here you also have the opportunity to relax before you are picked up in the evening for your return flight from Kilimanjaro Airport back home, where you will arrive the next morning.
… Unless you opt for an extension of your safari on one of the tropical islands in the azure blue Indian Ocean off the coast of Tanzania, where tourism is still in its infancy.
