It will change you. For good.

“It will change you. For good” is written in our travel program, we thought we’d see!
Usually you quickly fall back into your old patterns once you’re back in the Netherlands.

But Tanzania does something to you as a person & traveler, first of all the sweet, cheerful, cheerful population, from young to old.
The large number of animals, how special.
And then the nature, what a variety, of dry areas, lakes, rainforest and mountains.
You will never forget such a beautiful trip, if you’ve ever been to Africa it gets into your blood, and Tanzania adds a little extra to that.

And what an extra nice experience is that you notice everywhere that Explore Tanzania goes the extra mile, by the personal “touch”.
From the moment we arrived at Kilimanjaro airport, the taxi driver is ready with a clear sign (orange, how appropriate) and you are taken to your first hotel, we did not have to carry a bag ourselves, people are ready for everything.
Even the kitchen was still open for a late dinner.
We like to have a chat and we often asked, do you work for Explore Tanzania often? We have often heard that they have often spoken to Marloes and Marjolein themselves, how nice!
That also feels very familiar, we noticed that also in the way they interacted with us when we were for example in another “loose” taxi.

Then the journey really begins and you meet the guide, driver, tour guide (what a man he is..) and how lucky we were with this nice young man, nothing was too crazy, learned a lot about nature and what eagle eyes this man has, what animals we were allowed to see.
Just imagine, 10 days on the road with guests, driving many kilometers over stones, a road that actually (in our eyes) is not a road!
Those are long days, but never a bad word. JUMA you are fantastic!
You build a bond, having lunch together in the middle of the Serengeti and sometimes having dinner together, very special and also very cozy.
He was our great friend in the wilderness, we shed a tear when we said goodbye.

What also needs to be mentioned is the balloon safari, you can’t miss this, the experience, the silence in the air, nature from above and then also a champagne breakfast, with the best balloon pilot. Also in the middle of the Serengeti, how then, everything has been thought of, even a toilet.

All the “staff” of the accommodations, all involved and enthusiastic in their own way, also a healthy curiosity, which resulted in nice conversations.
We were the only guests in the Little Green Camp, so all the attention and what peace. We were very happy with this (secretly).

Whether this trip changes you, that’s what we started writing, YES! We actually never go back to the same country, but we will definitely go back to Tanzania.
And we think more often now, don’t worry “Hakuna Matata” and take it easy “Pole Pole” And it makes you grateful for the life you have and that we were allowed to make this trip, what a fantastic experience.
