Rich and complete experience
How do you describe our amazing safari concisely but with sufficient depth without resorting to a list of all the highlights?
Because they were there every day. In Tarangire National Park, less so in Lake Manyara National Park (where it was difficult to navigate due to the heavy rain that had fallen shortly before we arrived), but certainly in the Serengeti and then in the Ngorongoro crater.
Both our rangers Aloyce and Haji proved to be very qualified, accessible and extremely skilled in spotting the diverse fauna.
We received a lot of explanation of what we saw and we also received detailed answers to questions. In addition, both gentlemen’s respect for the animals’ living environment played an important role in their explanations and in their behavior. Rest when game was spotted nearby and wait patiently for what is to come.
The respect that came from this was contagious. There was also room for a personal conversation and mutual cultural aspects were discussed. A rich and complete experience.
But which animals have we all seen (up close or not)?
No list here either, but a few highlights, such as;
the crossing of a large group of elephants where the two large females protected the group against oncoming danger or the two cheetahs, which walked right in front of our car and which we had largely “to ourselves” for an (half?) hour, or
the group of eleven or twelve lions that went on a buffalo hunt, or
the accommodation in the middle of the animals in the great migration.
You can’t imagine the size until you’ve seen it, incredible.
In short, an unforgettable trip and experience, great!
