A ripple-free Indian Ocean.
The sun has just announced a new day.
Birds are scrounging for their breakfast and an islander is gathering wood for her fire to cook.
We walk over the seaweed that forms a soft carpet for our feet.
Nothing but the sea, the beach, the silence and us.
We spend our last days of an almost three-week holiday in Tanzania on Zanzibar. The peace and quiet here helps us process all the incredible impressions of our safaris. In our travel diary and in our heads.
Our encounters with the wild animals in their natural environment but also especially with the friendly population leave indelible memories.
From our great guide Zeph ‘a pearl in this country’ we also learned to appreciate the trees, plants and flowers. How everything is part of our ecosystem. And the circle of life that is almost tangible here.
