However, we have made a conscious decision to no longer offer self-drive safaris. Not because it is not possible, but because travelling with a local guide allows you to see, feel and understand more of the country. With peace of mind, safety and a genuine connection.
Prefer to be driven by a guide who knows the country
A good guide is worth their weight in gold. They know the country, nature and animals like no other. They know which paths are quiet and undiscovered, have a feel for the weather and know their jeep inside out. In Tanzania, roads are often unpaved, facilities are scarce, signage and navigation are very limited, and a flat savannah can turn into a swampy area after rain. An experienced guide knows exactly how to drive you through it safely.
But his value lies not only in knowledge and safety. A guide reads animal behaviour, recognises sounds from a distance and knows when it is better to wait. In this way, he brings you closer to nature than a map or navigation system ever could.

Entrance fees and permits for national parks cannot be arranged in advance for individual travellers and often take time and patience to obtain on the spot. In addition, local rules change regularly, which can make preparation and travel unnecessarily complex and stressful.
On a private guided safari, we arrange everything in advance. You travel with your own group, in your own jeep, on a route that we agree together. Our guides have the freedom to adapt each day to the weather, the behaviour of the animals and your wishes.
Along the way, you will enjoy a quiet lunch in the middle of nature, with coffee, tea and chilled drinks from the jeep. In the evening, the guide will join you around the campfire. Together, you will look back on the day and look ahead to what tomorrow will bring. Not by the clock, but by feel.
