The best tips how to prepare for your trip
If your trip to Tanzania is fast approaching, you might be wondering what you need to take care of before the time comes. No worries! With these tips, you can travel to Tanzania piece of mind.
1. The packing list
To make sure you pack everything you need for your trip, it’s helpful to download this packing list or watch the short video. This way, you won’t forget anything important and can avoid packing unnecessary items.
2. Take a few days off in advance
Transitioning from a busy work week straight into a trip to Tanzania can be a bit challenging. That’s why it’s a good idea to take a few days off before your departure. This will give you time to unwind and prepare for your vacation, helping you get into the holiday spirit ahead of time.
3. Download the app with the itinerary
It’s helpful to download the Explore Tanzania app that contains your itinerary. This way, you’ll always have easy access to your next destination during the trip and stay informed of any changes along the way.
4. Make sure you have US dollars as well as TZ shillings
You can pay with US dollars almost everywhere in Tanzania, so it’s advisable to bring some with you. However, the Tanzanian government is currently promoting the use of the Tanzanian shilling. For smaller expenses in villages, it’s therefore also handy to have Tanzanian shillings on hand, which you can withdraw once in Tanzania. Also, be sure your bank card is set to ‘outside Europe’.
5. Put important papers in a folder
To keep an overview of your belongings, put all important papers in a folder. Print out insurance papers and the visa, add your passport and yellow booklet.
6. Download the KLM app
It is helpful if you download the KLM app prior to your trip. This app allows for easy online check-in, shows the right gate information at the airport, contains your e-tickets and provides updates on any changes to your flight.
