About Fish Eagle Point
The intimate Fish Eagle Point is an eco-friendly resort just above the town of Tanga, on a peninsula on a remote stretch of the Indian Ocean coast. Each banda [bungalow] has its own private stretch of beach and great ocean views.
The few bandas of Fish Eagle Point blend lovingly into their surroundings and are only accessible via a short 5 to 7 minute walk over a narrow path and several bridges. Don’t expect luxury here, but back to nature.
Steve and Cathy Attwell provide a wonderful stay in a fantastic untouched place.
The property
Tucked away in the forest, right on the (private) beach, Fish Eagle Point’s rustic bandas feature high makuti roofs, verandas and open walls.
The chef prepares delicious and fresh meals daily, made from local products. Dietary requirements are possible.

Socially concerned
Steve and Cathy Attwell live on this beautiful and unspoiled stretch of nature along the Indian Ocean. They are committed to taking care of the coastline and forest around them and are doing everything they can to protect that natural environment.
In collaboration with various NGOs, they restore reefs, relocate turtle nests and roll out educational projects. They patrol together with the government against wrong fishing and the protection of the mangroves.
In addition, they work together with various organizations to include: Reef Rehabilitation and numerous other projects, as well as being involved with both local and international schools to dive, teach and assist with marine restoration projects.
Furthermore, they have also brought in groups and found funds to help community work and local education, build a school from scratch and several classrooms in other schools, build a library and install rainwater harvesting tanks…
Steve and Cathy Attwell believe protecting the environment and raising awareness for conservation will benefit the communities around them. Most of their employees come from the surrounding area – the Mkinga region – and have been trained by themselves. All building materials are local and natural.
