About Gibb’s Farm
Gibb’s Farm is located on a beautiful coffee plantation, just outside the Ngorongoro crater and overlooking the ancient Great Rift Valley.
Gibb’s Farm was built by German settlers in the early 20th century. The Gibb family bought the farm in 1948 and have homegrown coffee, fruit and vegetables.
Here you’ll feel a warm feeling of well-being, peace and history.
The property
Gibb’s Farm is a working coffee farm and has a total of twenty well-appointed cottages overlooking the beautiful gardens.
The dining room, lounge, bar and library are located in the rustic historic farmhouse. The organic meals from their own garden and service are of a high quality.

The cottages at Gibb’s Farm each have a unique theme and are richly decorated with eucalyptus floors and handmade furniture. Be inspired by the original wooden beams of the farm and the colorful artworks of local African artists.

Gibb’s Farm supports local families who have helped on the farm for generations. During your visit, you experience their lifestyle with all the activities both on the farm and in the surrounding area; from long walks to milking the cows…
The organic gardens, the farmyard, the Arabica coffee plantation, the adjacent forests and a visit to the nearby village of Tloma. This can be done by bike or on foot. Visit a school and experience the traditional ways of life.
In addition, Gibb’s Farm offers an artists-in-residence program to East African artists. At Gibb’s Farm they make commissioned works of art. They are all talented and inspiring artists from East Africa, whom you can see at work there.
