About Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge

Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge is an oasis of green in the arid plain of Engaresero, at the foot of the Ol Doinyo Lengai Volcano.

Close to Lake Natron, and not that far from Ngorongoro and the Serengeti, you are also close to the animals and may enjoy the passing giraffes and zebras every morning.

An ecologically sustainable place where you will be welcomed as a family member by the friendly Maasai staff.

The property

The eighteen rooms, built and decorated with local materials, all have a private bathroom and
a terrace with a view of the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano.

The restaurant serves farm-to-table dishes made from produce from its own vegetable garden and from its own chickens, goats and cows.

Socially involved

Most of the Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge staff are Maasai and a portion of the profits are used for community projects.
Furthermore, Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge gets its water from springs that flow into the Engaresero River and all electricity is produced by solar panels. The ecological awareness is further expressed in the constant planting of trees and there are water filters to reduce the use of bottled water.
The own vegetable garden is chemical-free.
