About Martina’s Retreat

Martina’s Retreat is a small-scale, warm lodge in green Karatu, close to the Ngorongoro Crater.

With only nine rooms, a peaceful garden and views of coffee plantations, it is a lovely place to relax.

The restaurant uses fresh, local ingredients and the surrounding gardens are known as a real birding paradise. An ideal base for an early start to the crater or a walk through the peaceful surroundings.

The property

Nestled among the green hills of Karatu is a small-scale accommodation overlooking coffee plantations and open fields. From this peaceful spot, you can easily walk to surrounding plantations or small villages. The garden is a true birding paradise, where you can see and hear rare bird species early in the day.

The rooms are comfortably spread across the grounds, with pleasant seating areas surrounded by greenery. After a walk or a day at the crater, you can relax by the pool or at the bar.
