Pangani Cliffs Lodge is a small-scale eco-lodge that operates as a social enterprise. Profits are invested in local projects to create positive impact, promote social connections and support local developments.

Infrastructure and Energy:

Solar energy: The lodge runs entirely on solar energy with an advanced system that supplies electricity 24/7.
Water Management: A new water source has been installed, along with updated pipes and showers, and the lodge uses solar boilers for hot water.
Ventilation: Rooms are equipped with energy-efficient, quiet fans.
Waste Management and Recycling:

Plastic reduction: Drinking water is supplied in 20-litre returnable bottles to minimize plastic waste.
Recycling: Metals are separated and recycled, glass bottles are reused as flower bed borders, and eggshells are used for composting.
Local Purchasing:

Products: Vegetables, fruit, eggs, milk, and building materials are purchased locally within a radius of 10 km, which supports the local economy.

Collaboration with Local Community:

Maintenance and Cleaning: Guests and a women’s group from Kikokwe regularly help clean the beach and collect plastic for recycling.
Social Initiatives: We collaborate with the village council to develop tourist activities and increase awareness for a clean living environment.
Working conditions:
Employees: All (12) permanent employees come from nearby villages and have contracts with salaries above the legal minimum, including health insurance. Employees receive meals and clean drinking water every day.
