Driver’s skills

11 February 2020 | Connie, Trees and Rinus

Hello Marjolein!

We have been able to make a wonderful journey.

We finally let Selous pass – the reports about the accumulated wetness and blubber were too dramatic to want to go there self-driving.

We “did” Mikumi and Ruaha the first half of the trip. We saw an incredible amount and variety of game, plus fantastic birds.

Ruaha in particular demanded some driver’s skills, but common sense and a looking at the ‘professionals’ have ensured that we could continue on our own.

It must also be mentioned that the wettest period was behind us when we started our journey. The car was fine by the way – there was sometimes something, but soluble.

The second half we went to Serengeti and Tarangire. Again a lot of different game there. It was time for calves, so there were also loads of young stuff.

What was special was how different the landscapes were, so that animal spotting was always different.

In short, we had a good time.

Thank you for your contribution.

Greetings, also from Trees and Connie,
Rinus
