Truly an experience to remember!
Dear Marjolijn,
Sorry for our late response, but we have been quite busy.
The trek to the top of Kilimanjaro was truly an experience to remember and we all made it without a hitch.
It was quieter than expected, we only had heavy rain for a day and, once up, clear weather with a beautiful sunrise! However, we should have dressed a little warmer for the last night.
Guides and the rest of the team helped us great and the food was fine (except for the daily porridge 😊).
At the bottom, Simone sprained her foot quite unfortunately when she tried to give our last energy bars to the locals, which was a bit of a shock, but luckily it only happened when we were already down.
Simone was helped very well by the guides and is now out of the cast. (Turned out to be broken later!)
The lodge was of course wonderful to relax. Great location with elephants, and other game just 50 meters from the restaurant.
All in all a wonderful holiday in Tanzania.
