The ultimate safari feeling

Jambo!

Upon arrival at the airport, we were greeted by two lovely Explore Tanzania staff members and taken to our accommodation in Arusha.
The next day, we started with a city tour of Arusha. We visited a school, the local market, and had a drink with our guides at a local bar. We gained a lot of impressions, and they told us a lot about how the people live.
The market was very colorful with all the spices, vegetables, and, not to mention, the people; you could have taken a picture of everyone. My daughter had a really nice outfit made at a clothing store, which the local guide delivered to our accommodation that evening. Everyone was so helpful.

The next morning, our safari guide, Frank, picked us up for our big adventure; we immediately hit it off.
Our 8-day safari tour was about to begin, via Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater, and on to the Serengeti. Just before entering Tarangire, we visited a Maasai village. It was truly special to see how these people still live in harmony with nature and their traditions. Frank had a lot to tell us about it. It’s remarkable that certain rituals are still practiced today. We drank “Banana” beer and tasted Maasai honey—all special memories.

Along the way, our guide, Frank, told us a lot about the animals, the culture, and life in Tanzania. He also did everything he could to find all the animals, and we were able to see everything. From lions feeding with an elephant, a “nanny lioness” with 14 cubs, a pregnant female leopard in a tree, and cheetahs searching for prey on a termite mound. We found the “Lion Rock” with no fewer than 16 lions lounging on it in the sun—a magnificent sight!

We always had complete confidence in our guide; he knew what he was doing after so many years as a guide.
During the drive, we received a free “African massage,” chatted a lot, sang occasionally, learned some Swahili, and of course, took lots of beautiful photos.
Our stays in the parks were also fantastic. We were always warmly welcomed with delicious fruit juice and a fresh towel to remove all the dust from our faces. Everyone was equally friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, and we always enjoyed it in the company of our guide. We listened to wonderful stories while enjoying a Serengeti beer and a “big Kilimanjaro,” as Frank called a large plate of food.

Luxury safari tents with all the amenities, surrounded by nature and surrounded by animals. A nighttime party on your roof with the monkeys. Hearing the hyenas and lions roar at night and waking up at sunrise to see giraffes and buffalo walking from your veranda—that’s the ultimate safari feeling!

After all this beauty, our journey continued to Zanzibar. From Serengeti, we flew in a relatively small plane to a completely different world. White beaches, blue water, and a beautiful house that we enjoyed for the next five days.
We visited Stone Town with its rich history, swam with dolphins, and took a lovely bike tour through Makunduchi.
The bike tour was fantastic! Cycling between banana trees and local houses, ending at a local football match, drinking coconut milk, and eating delicious freshly sliced mango.

It’s remarkable to see how they live with so little. Everyone is so friendly, all the children cheerfully shouting “Jambo.” It was a wonderful experience! And it makes you realize how good we have it here.
Asante sana, it was a trip you’ll never forget.
