Triple fantastic

The reason for our trip to Tanzania was the wedding in Dar es Salaam of our son and his Tanzanian girlfriend.

Eight of us booked a trip to Tanzania, where we of course planned a holiday after the wedding. Because some of us wanted a safari, but others preferred a beach holiday on Zanzibar, we booked both in consultation with Marloes from Explore Tanzania.

Immediately upon arrival at the airport in Dar es Salaam, a surprise awaited us: a large part of the bride’s family was there to welcome us and arrange transport to our hotel. We spent the days leading up to the wedding getting to know each other’s family. The wedding was quite an experience. Everyone was swinging and dancing and having fun. It was heartwarming to notice that we were immediately accepted into the bride’s family.

After the wedding, we went on safari in the Nyerere National Park and stayed at the Selous Wilderness Camp, where we saw and learned a great deal under the pleasant and knowledgeable guidance of the guide Kenneth.

After that, we took it easy for a few days at the Raha Boutique Hotel in Zanzibar, although we did visit a spice farm and dived into the history of Zanzibar with its slavery past.

We all gained a lot of impressions on this triple fantastic trip.
The entire trip was perfectly organized, including the local transport.
