Travelling in November?
“Is November a good month to make our trip to Tanzania?” We hear this question often. And our answer is: “Absolutely!” We are enchanted by November in Tanzania ourselves and we would like to share with you why this month is wonderful to discover the country.
November falls in what is officially called the ‘low season’. In practice, this means: fewer travellers and more peace and quiet in the National Parks. Prices are also lower than in the high season, including for international flights. So you have more space and freedom to enjoy all the beauty that Tanzania has to offer, without the crowds of the high season.
November marks the end of the dry season and the start of the rains. The rainy season in Tanzania means the occasional heavy but short shower. Afterwards, the sky is blue, clear and dust-free again. The rain brings life back to the landscape, so the grass is short, fresh and bright green. In addition, the sky is often spectacular due to impressive cloud formations. We would therefore definitely recommend that photographers travel during this period.
In November, the great migration is underway from the east to the south of the Serengeti. It is an amazing experience to be in the midst of all these animals. When choosing accommodations, we take into account the location of the migration, so that you have every chance to experience this natural spectacle up close – and that in the peace and quiet of the low season.
Another great advantage of traveling in November is the pleasant temperatures, the weather is perfect to go on safari in comfort and explore nature. In addition, the islands on the east coast of Tanzania are the perfect place to end your safari. In November you will enjoy wonderful weather, warm water and on Mafia Island the whale sharks are present during this period that you can swim with.
