About Kilimanjaro Coffee Lodge

Boutique hotel Kilimanjaro Coffee Lodge is located at an altitude of 1400m, in a unique location in the middle of the ecosystem of Mount Kilimanjaro. From the lodge you have a fantastic view of the mountain.

Kilimanjaro Coffee Lodge is part of Machare Estate, an organic coffee farm, on the higher slopes of Kilimanjaro, between the Kyarongo and Ngomberi rivers.

A wonderful place to relax before or after your safari and/or your mountain climb.

Kilimanjaro Coffee Lodge has six tastefully decorated cottage rooms, using locally sourced furnishings, and a spacious two-bedroom, en-suite family villa.

Socially responsible

Kilimanjaro Coffee Lodge takes good care of the well-being of its neighboring community by creating employment,
but also by setting up environmental and health promotion projects.

Some milestones so far:

23 water projects, providing water to 2,837 households
High-efficiency cooking stoves for 1,278 households to prevent health risks and
reduce deforestation.
42 micro-biogas plants have been built.
A pharmacy has been built and handed over fully furnished to the government.
Establishment of 13 groups to support coffee growers in the area.
15,000 trees have been planted on the farm and adjacent areas in an effort to
reverse the impact of deforestation.
Installation of 2,300 small solar panels, providing 2,300 households with 4 light bulbs
and a phone charger each.
Construction of sanitary facilities for 4 primary schools and 1 secondary school, construction of teacher offices and classroom repairs in 1 school.
