What was the moment when you thought, “Wow, I’m never going to forget this”?

So many moments! Seeing a cheetah just two metres from our vehicle, watching a leopard catch a dik-dik right in front of us, seeing the fiery red sunrise in Tarangire National Park with all its beautiful baobab trees, spotting five rhinos in the Ngorongoro Crater, and watching a lioness with her cubs nuzzling each other and drinking milk. Truly magical!

What surprised or moved you about Tanzania? Perhaps something you hadn’t expected beforehand?

It’s incredible just how beautiful the nature is here. Of course, everyone has seen footage of Tanzania’s landscapes and wildlife, but seeing it in real life is simply indescribable.

How did you experience meeting the people and experiencing the culture? Think about conversations with your guide, local customs and hospitality.

I’ll never forget the warmth and hospitality of Tanzania. Everyone is friendly and interested, and people always greet one another. We spent hours talking and laughing with our guide too, and when it was time to say goodbye, we got two very big hugs :-)

What would you recommend future travellers definitely shouldn’t miss?

I would really recommend making sure you have enough time in each park. It’s better to visit fewer parks and spend more time in each one. Travel time is precious time. I would also definitely recommend staying at the campsites. Sleeping right in the heart of nature really adds something special, from the sounds around you to the incredible night sky.

What are you taking home from this journey, in your head, your heart and/or your suitcase? Something that has changed the way you do or see things, or that will simply stay with you forever.

The memories of the wildlife and nature I’ve seen here will stay with me forever. I hope I’ll be able to go on another safari like this soon, and I wish everyone could have an experience like this!
