The bungalows at Africa Amini Life Hillside Retreat all have a patio and are suitable for at least two people. On request, an extra bed for a child up to 12 years old can be added.
The names of the cottages refer to the view.

Hillside Retreat - Africa Amini Life

Socially involved

Africa Amini Alama – Africa I believe in you! is the charitable organization of owner Christine and her daughter Cornelia. The various projects are led by the local population and financed from the overnight stays, activities and excursions at e.g. Africa Amini Hillside Retreat. As many people as possible are involved in the projects. All projects can also be visited.

Projects:

• Education: At the moment there are three primary schools and one secondary school – the Pamoja Secondary School – to provide the children with adequate education. In addition, vocational schools have been established where young people from poor families can become carpenters, masons or mechanics. From January 2022, a hotel management school has been set up in Momella. The schools also have founded different roots & shoots clubs of the Jane Goodall Institute.
• Medical:  Both Christine and Cornelia are licensed physicians and opened the Africa Amini Hospital in 2010, which was later completed by another department dedicated to alternative medicine. Called ‘the driving doctors’, they also drive to remote Maasai areas to provide on-site medical assistance.
• Social: An orphanage for 40 children who – financed by sponsors – can receive education at their schools.
  Several Maasai and Meru women’s groups and a women’s choir were also established to ensure a minimum income through various projects.
  To guarantee clean drinking water, water projects have been carried out so that it is also possible to supply the Maasai regions with water from Kilimanjaro in dry seasons.
